The “Wordless Book” is an evangelistic tool we can use to share the gospel message. Each book page has a different color that symbolizes different aspects of foundational beliefs. I like the “Wordless Book,” but when I am teaching how to share the book with others, I offer the verses below to help show where the symbolization comes from. I encourage memorization of these scriptures for your benefit and to know what to share with others.
- Black (Sin, Darkness, Separation from God)
- Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
- Isaiah 59:2: “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
- Red (Blood of Jesus, Sacrifice for Sin)
- John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
- 1 Peter 1:18-19: “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed… but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
- White (Purity, Cleansing from Sin)
- Isaiah 1:18: “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
- Psalm 51:7: “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”
- Green (Growth in Faith, Christian Life)
- 2 Peter 3:18: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
- Colossians 2:6-7: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
- Gold/Yellow (Heaven, Eternal Life, God’s Glory)
- John 14:2-3: “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
- Revelation 21:18, 21: “The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass… The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.”
The nice thing about the “Wordless Book” is that you can take those colors and put them on a necklace, bracelet, key chain, or anything else for convenient carry. Then you will always be ready to share the Gospel.
